As 2024 comes to a close, we reflect on another season of adventure, camaraderie, and unforgettable outdoor experiences. Here’s a recap of our fourth-quarter activities and a look ahead to what’s next.
October Adventures
October 12: Mt. Baker Ptarmigan Ridge Trail
Led by James Zhang, this stunning alpine hike offered breathtaking views of Mt. Baker and the surrounding ridgelines. Participants enjoyed crisp autumn air and the vibrant colors of the season.
October 13: Fraser Valley Multi-City One-Day Cycling Event
Tim organized a cycling tour that connected multiple cities in the Fraser Valley. Cyclists rode through scenic countryside routes, fostering both fitness and fellowship.
November Highlights
November 3: Outdoor Safety Workshop
Tony and Suzey led a comprehensive workshop on outdoor safety, equipping participants with essential skills for safe exploration. The event featured interactive demonstrations and group activities.
November 8: Map Reading Zoom Session
Li Wan, Timothy Chen, and Paul Tan hosted an online workshop, teaching members how to read topographic maps and use navigation tools effectively—a valuable skill for any adventurer.
December Adventures
December 1–6: Pre-Season Ski Trip
Under the guidance of Timothy and CSIA Level 1 and Level 2 instructors, over 50 participants kicked off the ski season at Whistler Blackcomb. It was a perfect blend of skill-building, thrilling descents, and après-ski camaraderie.
December 13–15: Manning Park Winter Camping
Suzey, Tony, and Hugh led a three-day winter camping trip filled with snow camping, ice fishing, and campfire storytelling. Heavy snowfall added to the magic of this immersive experience.
December 31–January 1: Mt. Seymour New Year Camping
Bai Shui is leading this unique overnight adventure to ring in the New Year surrounded by nature. Cozy tents, delicious food and stunning views await participants.
Looking Ahead to 2025
January 1: Sea to Summit Trail
Kick off 2025 with Paul Tan on a hike up the spectacular Sea to Summit Trail. This challenging route promises sweeping vistas and a rewarding sense of accomplishment.
