PNOA Annual Clean-Up and Gathering: A Rainy Day of Community and Adventure

What a memorable day it was yesterday! Despite the relentless downpour, the PNOA community’s spirit shone brighter than ever at our Imperial Landing Park Cleanup and Member Gathering Event on Saturday, October 18, 2025. As a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting outdoor activities and environmental stewardship, PNOA brought together passionate members for a morning of hands-on cleanup followed by an afternoon of fellowship and fun. Rain or shine (mostly rain!), we proved that nothing can extinguish our enthusiasm for giving back and building connections.

Event Highlights: A Schedule Packed with Purpose

The day kicked off at our gathering spot, at Granville Avenue, Richmond, where we welcomed everyone with open arms (and raincoats). Here’s how it unfolded:

• Participant Registration: 10:30 AM – 11:00 AM at Granville Avenue, Richmond

• Imperial Landing Park Cleanup: 11:00 AM – 1:30 PM at Imperial Landing Park
Led by the unstoppable Roy Cao, our team dove into the muck—literally! Armed with gloves, bags, and unbreakable determination, we cleared litter, pruned overgrown areas, and restored the natural beauty of this stunning waterfront park. It’s moments like these that remind us why we do what we do: protecting our shared outdoor spaces for future adventures.

• Member Gathering: 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM back at Granville Avenue, Richmond
The afternoon turned into a cozy potluck extravaganza, complete with small gifts and an outdoor skills demo. Hosted by Li Wan and Roy Cao, we feasted on homemade dishes, laughed over shared stories, and picked up practical tips on hiking safety and wilderness navigation.

Even as the skies opened up with heavy rain, it only fueled our fire. The cleanup not only beautified Imperial Landing Park but also sparked meaningful interactions among members, strengthening our bonds as a hiking family. Special shoutouts go to Roy Cao for his dynamic hosting, Yolanda and Lisa for their stellar setup (umbrellas at the ready!), Laowan for sharing invaluable outdoor safety knowledge—from emergency signaling to weather preparedness, and 颜如玉, Sue, and James Zhang for capturing the day’s magic through videos and photos! Everyone jumped in with active participation, making the event truly engaging and unforgettable.

昨天真是难忘的一天！尽管大雨倾盆，PNOA 社群的精神却比以往任何时候都要闪耀。在 2025 年 10 月 18 日星期六，我们举办了Imperial Landing Park 清洁与会员聚会活动。作为一家致力于推广户外活动和环境保护的非营利组织，PNOA 将热情的会员们聚集在一起，进行上午的实地清洁和下午的交流与欢乐。风雨无阻（主要是雨！），我们证明了没有什么能熄灭我们回馈社会和建立联系的热情。

活动亮点：满满当当的日程，充满意义

活动从我们的集合点Granville Avenue, Richmond开始，我们以热情的怀抱（和雨衣）欢迎每一位参与者。以下是当天的流程：

在不可阻挡的Roy Cao领导下，我们的团队一头扎进泥泞中——字面意义上的！戴上手套、拿着垃圾袋，以坚定的决心，我们清理了垃圾、修剪了杂草，恢复了这片壮丽滨水公园的自然美景。这样的时刻提醒我们为什么要做这些：保护我们共享的户外空间，为未来的冒险铺路。

• 会员聚会：下午 2:00 – 5:00 @ Granville Avenue, Richmond
下午转为温馨的自助餐盛宴，配以小礼物和户外技能演示。由Li Wan和Roy Cao主持，我们品尝自制美食，分享故事大笑，还学习了实用的徒步安全和野外导航技巧。
