PNOA Paddling the River of Golden Dreams – July 13, 2025

On July 13, 2025, 12 PNOA members enjoyed a magical day paddling the River of Golden Dreams, led by Paul and Michael.

We began our adventure at Alta Lake, where strong winds and choppy waves made it quite a challenge to stand on the paddleboards. Despite the effort, the sunny skies and lively atmosphere—filled with people enjoying all kinds of water sports—set the tone for a perfect summer outing.

Before launching, we parked several vehicles at the endpoint at Green Lake to make our return smooth and easy. Once on the water, the river rewarded us with serenity: we meandered through peaceful channels surrounded by lush old-growth forests, vibrant wildflowers, and awe-inspiring views of snow-capped mountains. The gentle current guided us through the winding path, offering the perfect blend of exploration and relaxation.

As we merged into Green Lake, the wind picked up again, creating strong waves. Out of caution, many members chose to sit down on their boards or kayaks for better stability. Everyone remained calm and careful, ensuring a safe and smooth arrival at the finish point.

With big smiles and unforgettable memories, we ended the journey feeling grateful. Some members even said they’d love to return in the near future.

Big thanks to Paul and Michael for their leadership and thoughtful planning.

Special thanks to Tony for transporting all the SUPs, making the day so much more convenient for everyone.

See you on the water next time!

We are the Champion, My Friend! And we’ll keep on fighting till the end!

  • The Rockwall BP (石墙路背包行)
