Dates: June 30 & July 2 and 3, 2025

Location: Crescent Beach, South Surrey/ Deer Lake, Burnaby

Under bright skies and warm weather, PNOA held three introductory Standup Paddle-board (SUP) training sessions at the scenic Crescent Beach and Deer Lake. A big thank you to Michael Lin and Suzey for organizing and running the event!

Michael led the sessions and introduced participants to the world of paddle-boarding. He covered the basics, including board anatomy, paddle-handling techniques, launching, standing up safely, and balancing on the water. In addition, he shared important safety tips such as how to fall properly, re-mount the board, and always wear a leash and life jacket.

Participants enjoyed hands-on practice and learned how to maneuver their boards, paddle efficiently, and build confidence on calm waters. For many, it was their first time on a paddle-board—and definitely not the last!

Thanks again to Michael and Suzey for making this fun and educational experience possible. We’re looking forward to seeing more paddlers out there this summer!
