PNOA Annual Social Event Recap June 21, 2025

Location: Deas Island Regional Park, Delta, BC

This past Saturday, over sixty participants gathered at beautiful Deas Island Regional Park to celebrate the PNOA Annual Social Event.

Although a light drizzle fell throughout the morning, it didn’t dampen anyone’s enthusiasm—instead, it added a cozy Pacific Northwest touch to our outdoor gathering. With Yolanda and Shirley as warm and capable hosts, the day was packed with activities that blended learning, fun, and connection.

9:00–10:00 AM – Registration & Raffle Ticket Pickup

Participants arrived to sign in and receive their raffle tickets, kicking off the event with anticipation.

10:00–11:00 AM – Outdoor Gear Demos

We explored various outdoor gear exhibitions and watched live demonstrations:

  • Lao Wan and Yuki shared tips on hiking and backpacking essentials for safety.
  • Paul introduced us to Stand-Up Paddleboarding (SUP).
  • Tim and Victor engaged members in a hands-on cycling experience.
  • A ski and snowboarding section sparked excitement for the winter season ahead.

11:00 AM–12:00 PM – Charity Sale

A lively fundraising sale supported upcoming PNOA events, with members enthusiastically contributing to the cause.

12:00–1:30 PM – Potluck & Social Time

Everyone brought delicious dishes to share. During lunch, Linda led an energizing warm-up session to get everyone moving and mingling.

12:00–12:30 PM – Experience Sharing

Patrick and Hong shared heartfelt and humorous stories of their adventures with PNOA, bringing laughter and inspiration.

1:30–2:00 PM – Raffle Draw (Small Prizes)

Lucky members walked away with fun outdoor-themed goodies!

2:00–3:00 PM – Game Time!

We tested our strength and spirit with a push-up challenge, plank competition, and weightlifting fun – full of laughter and encouragement.

3:00 PM – Grand Prizes Raffle Draw

Big winners were announced, with cheers echoing across the park.

3:30–4:30 PM – Cleanup

Under Lisa’s leadership, all volunteers came together to clean and restore the park with teamwork and care.

A big thank-you to all participants, organizers, group leaders, and volunteers who made this special day possible.

PNOA年度社交日活动回顾 —— 2025621

在刚刚过去的周六,60余名成员齐聚风景如画的 Deas Island Regional Park,共同参与一年一度的PNOA社交日活动。

虽然当天飘着毛毛细雨,但丝毫没有浇灭大家的热情,反而让这场户外聚会更添几分西岸独有的氛围。Yolanda 与 Shirley 出色地主持了当天的活动,内容丰富、充满温情与欢笑。

9:00–10:00 AM – 签到&抽奖券领取

参与人员陆续签到领取抽奖券,为精彩的一天拉开序幕。

10:00–11:00 AM – 户外用品展览与演示

大家参观了各类户外装备展览并欣赏了精彩的现场演示:

  • 老万 与 Yuki 分享了登山与背包旅行的安全知识。
  • Paul 展示了SUP立式划水的基础知识。
  • Tim 和 Victor 带领大家体验骑行乐趣。
  • 滑雪与单板滑雪专区引起了大家对冬季的期待。

11:00 AM–12:00 PM – 义卖活动

充满爱心的义卖为PNOA未来活动筹集资金,会员们积极参与、热情奉献。

12:00–1:30 PM – 午餐与社交时间

大家带来了丰富的美食共享。午餐期间,Linda 带领大家做热身操,气氛活跃。

12:00–12:30 PM – 经验分享

Patrick 与 Hong 以风趣的语言分享了他们与PNOA的难忘回忆,引发阵阵笑声与共鸣。

1:30–2:00 PM – 小奖抽奖环节

幸运儿获得了各类户外精美小礼品!

2:00–3:00 PM – 游戏时间

俯卧撑挑战、平板支撑比拼、举重乐趣等活动让大家在欢笑中挑战自我。

3:00 PM – 终极大奖抽奖

大奖得主诞生,全场掌声与欢呼齐鸣!

3:30–4:30 PM – 清理会场

在 Lisa 的带领下,志愿者们齐心协力清理会场,为活动画上圆满句号。

  • The Rockwall BP (石墙路背包行)

    1 计划 石墙道是一条多日背包步道, 位于加拿大境内落基山脉的Kootenay 国家公园内. 全长56公里, 沿途可看到瀑布, 溪流, 冰川和高山湖, 当然还有最有名的石墙. 可以从南往北走, 也可以反方向从北往南走, 一般人花三到五天走完. 像这种著名的步道, 营地都需要事先在国家公园网站预订, 一般都是秒光. PNOA协会从年初就开始计划. 准备充分, 又得力于团队有2位金手指, 为我们南北两个方向的每个营地都抢到了至少5个帐篷位子(pad). 公园规定一支队伍的人数最多十人, 所以我们二十人的大部队分成两个小分队, A队从北往南, B队从南往北走, 两队相向而下, 在中途某个地方会师. 队里有经验丰富的大神领队,但也有不少是背包小白, 就悠着点来, 按五天计划, 平均每天走11公里. 途中有4个营地可以过夜, 所谓的营地, 也就是几块平整过的碎石地. 背包里除了要背过夜的帐篷和睡袋, 还要背5天的食物及净水设备. 平均每人负重15到18公斤. 这是一个什么概念呢? 战国名将吴起在魏国训练的精锐部队魏武卒的入门标准是负重50多斤, 半日行军百里. 史书上没有记载爬升多高, 但想象在中原地区奔驰百里之遥, 不可能全在平地. 所以与魏武卒相比, 这个只是蜗牛爬. 但我们没有称霸户外江湖的野心, 只是游山玩水, 只要背得动, 蜗牛速度也可以出门了. 为了从小白晋升到蜗牛爬, 队员们几个月前就开始了魔鬼训练, 除了日常跑步,爬山和骑车等基础训练之外, PNOA协会还组织了几次短途的背包露营, 比如Elfin lakes 一日露营,…
