Pacific Northwest Outdoor Association Annual General Meeting at February 4th, 2024
Hello PNOA Members,
We hope this message finds you well. We’re thrilled to share a recap of our second Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on February 4, 2024, at Elgin Hall in Surrey, BC. The event was a tremendous success, thanks to the 49 members who attended and contributed to the vibrant discussions.
Highlights from the AGM:
1. Membership Growth:
- With 49 attendees, we achieved the required 10% quorum, showcasing the active engagement of our members.
- We currently have 118 members, and we encourage you to bring your friends to our events as we aim to grow our association.
2. Leadership Updates:
- Suzey was approved to chair the meeting, and the minutes of the past AGM were duly approved.
- Yolanda presented a comprehensive review of membership and operations, emphasizing the importance of participation in making our association strong.
3. Activity Reviews:
- Timothy provided a thorough review of the outdoor activities in 2023, totaling over 50 events.
4. Awards and Recognition:
- Bing presented:
— Event Leaders/Volunteers of 2023 Award to individual members showcasing their dedication and contributions to PNOA include: Jane Zhao, Yuki Chau, Lisa Peng, Sue Qu, Tony Bi, Maddie, Karen Hu, Cynthia Li, Fiona Wang, Jessica Wang, Amy Sun
— Photography Contest Awards to talented individuals within our community.
— Fundraising Awards were presented to those who significantly contributed to our fundraising efforts over the past two years.
5. Financial Overview:
- Hugh provided a detailed financial review for FY23, highlighting the importance of diligent financial reporting for the sustainability of our association.

6. Board Elections:
- We are excited to announce the newly elected board members, including Timothy Chen as President, Li Wan & Paul Tan as Vice Presidents, Hugh Li as Treasurer, Yolanda Zeng as Secretary, Bing Xie, Yuki Chau, and Roy Cao as Board Directors.
