June 20, 2026 | Deas Island Regional Park

The annual PNOA Summer Social Gathering came to a successful conclusion on June 20, 2026, at the beautiful Deas Island Regional Park. With more than 70 members and volunteers in attendance—our largest turnout ever—the event was filled with laughter, friendship, learning, and a shared commitment to giving back to the outdoor community.

This year’s gathering was much more than a social event. It was a day where members connected, learned valuable safety skills, supported an important cause, and celebrated the spirit that makes PNOA such a special organization.

One of the highlights of the day was our charity bazaar and fundraising activities. Thanks to the generosity and enthusiastic participation of our members, all proceeds from the bazaar will be donated to the North Shore Search and Rescue and Lions Bay Search and Rescue teams, helping support the volunteers who dedicate countless hours to keeping outdoor enthusiasts safe.

Safety has always been at the heart of PNOA’s mission. Members attended an informative insurance seminar followed by hands-on outdoor safety and first aid training. Participants learned practical skills including personal and group first aid kit preparation, airway obstruction response, heart attack recognition, fracture management, and bleeding control. These valuable demonstrations reinforced the importance of preparedness and responsibility in outdoor activities.

A special thank you to Susan for leading the first aid demonstrations and sharing valuable outdoor safety knowledge with our members. Her expertise and dedication helped make the training both educational and engaging.

The afternoon brought even more excitement with interactive games, entertainment activities, and plenty of opportunities for members to get to know one another. The laughter, teamwork, and friendly competition perfectly reflected the welcoming culture of PNOA.

The lucky draw was another crowd favorite. Thanks to the generous sponsorship from Outdoor Master, members had the chance to win an impressive collection of outdoor prizes, including ski and snowboard helmets, sleeping pads, hydration bladders, hats, socks, and water bottles. The abundance of prizes added excitement throughout the day and demonstrated Outdoor Master’s continued support for the outdoor community.

A heartfelt thank you to Haijun, Shirley Tong, and all the volunteers who contributed their time and energy to organizing the fundraising activities. We are equally grateful to everyone who donated items, participated in the bazaar, volunteered, and supported the cause.

Special thanks also go to Roy for securing and coordinating the venue, helping make this gathering possible.

Most importantly, sincere appreciation goes to all PNOA Board Members, volunteers, presenters, and organizers whose dedication, teamwork, and countless hours of preparation made this event a tremendous success. Every contribution, whether seen or unseen, played an important role in bringing our community together.

At PNOA, we are more than just an outdoor club—we are a family built on mutual support, shared adventures, and genuine care for one another. Events like this remind us that the strongest communities are created not only through the mountains we climb and the trails we explore, but also through the friendships we build along the way.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, volunteered, donated, learned, played, and shared their smiles. We look forward to seeing you at our future adventures and gatherings.

Together, we explore. Together, we learn. Together, we give back.

Great Cycle Challenge!
