🌲 PNOA Co-Hosts “Learn to Be in Nature” with BC Parks
On June 7, PNOA had the honor of co-hosting the very first “Learn to Be in Nature” event in Greater Vancouver, organized by BC Parks. This initiative aimed to bring the public—especially newcomers and ethnically diverse communities—closer to nature while promoting outdoor safety and respect for the environment.
Our enthusiastic volunteer team, all PNOA members, had originally prepared three presentations on hiking planning and gear demonstrations. However, due to unexpected transportation delays, the schedule was adjusted, and only one session was successfully held. Among the seven co-host organizations, PNOA was one of only two invited to lead a special session—an opportunity we were proud to take on.
At PNOA, we’re dedicated to promoting safe, responsible outdoor practices and helping people of all backgrounds connect with the natural world. This event marked a meaningful step forward in reaching diverse communities and sharing our love for the outdoors.
We sincerely thank BC Parks for their invitation and support, and we’re especially grateful to all our dedicated volunteers—your passion and professionalism made the day possible. And to all the attendees: your curiosity, smiles, and engagement brought warmth and meaning to the event.

🌲 PNOA 协办「Learn to Be in Nature」活动回顾
6月7日，PNOA 有幸作为协办单位，参与了 BC Parks 在大温地区首度举办的 “Learn to Be in Nature” 活动。此次活动旨在让公众、特别是新移民与多元族裔社群，更加接触自然、理解户外安全，培养对自然的尊重与热爱。
按照主办方原定的安排，我们由PNOA会员组成的志愿者团队，热情筹备了三场登山活动规划与装备演示，原本期待能完整呈现。但由于当天接送车辆安排的延误，活动流程临时调整，最终只顺利完成一场演示。不过，在7个协办单位中，PNOA 是仅有的两个获邀进行专场展示的组织之一，实属难得的机会。
PNOA 一直致力于推动户外安全教育，并努力为不同背景的朋友们打开接触自然的大门。此次活动不仅是一次展示我们专业与热忱的机会，也是我们向多元文化社群迈出的坚实一步。
